Bitcoin's Price History: The Last 3 Years

Bitcoin has had a dramatic price history over the past three years. In January of 2013, one bitcoin was worth just over $13. By January of 2016, one bitcoin was worth more than $1,000. However, since then, the price of bitcoin has gone through several waves of volatility, with a few short-term spikes and dips.

As of this writing, one bitcoin is worth $5,547. This is a 671% increase from January of 2013, and a 1,273% increase from January of 2016.

The Evolution of Ethereum: A 3-Year Timeline

January 1, 2015: Ethereum is born.

December 31, 2017: Ethereum reaches its hard fork date.

July 21, 2016: Ethereum mainnet goes live.

November 3, 2017: Ethereum reaches its first milestone – 10,000 transactions per day.

January 9, 2018: Ethereum reaches its second milestone – 25,000 transactions per day.

July 30, 2018: Ethereum reaches its third milestone – 50,000 transactions per day.

Bitcoin Cash: A 3-Year History

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a cryptocurrency that was created on August 1, 2017. At its inception, Bitcoin Cash had a total supply of 21 million coins.

Bitcoin Cash was created as a result of a disagreement between the developers of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. The developers of Bitcoin wanted to increase the block size to 2MB, while the developers of Bitcoin Cash wanted to increase the block size to 8MB. The disagreement resulted in a hard fork of the Bitcoin network, with Bitcoin Cash becoming a separate blockchain.

Since its inception, Bitcoin Cash has seen significant growth. In January 2018, Bitcoin Cash had a market capitalization of $2.8 billion. As of July 2018, Bitcoin Cash has a market capitalization of $9.5 billion.

Bitcoin Cash is currently the fifth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Litecoin was created on October 7, 2011 by Charles Lee. Litecoin is a decentralized digital currency that uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks. As of September 30, 2018, Litecoin has a market cap of $11,309,834,054.

Litecoin prices peaked at $266.47 on December 17, 2017 and then declined to $130.68 on February 6, 2018. Litecoin prices then increased to a high of $396.10 on March 14, 2018 before declining again to $233.27 on September 5, 2018. Litecoin prices are currently trading at $241.71.
